Event Description
Midway through autumn, LES FILLES DE LA PLUIE will host a unique cultural gathering titled “Autumn Encounters – A Celebration of Collective Theater.” This event will highlight the diversity of creative processes within theater and will allow the public to experience how collective artistic work can shape a performance.
The day will be structured into three main segments. The morning will open with open rehearsals, where visitors can watch actors and directors at work. These rehearsals will not be staged demonstrations but genuine working sessions, offering an authentic insight into the creative process. Attendees will have the chance to observe how a scene evolves, how dialogue is refined, and how artistic decisions are made collectively.
In the afternoon, interactive thematic workshops will be organized. One workshop will be dedicated to physical expression and stage movement, helping participants explore how the body can communicate emotions and narratives. Another workshop will focus on text interpretation, allowing participants to work with short excerpts and experiment with different styles of delivery. For those interested in the backstage aspects of theater, a technical workshop will introduce the basics of lighting and stage design, emphasizing how these elements contribute to storytelling.
The highlight of the event will take place in the evening, with a shared performance created during the day. Participants from the workshops and association members will come together to present an improvised and semi-structured performance. This presentation will not aim for perfection but for authenticity, showcasing how collective energy and creativity can bring a performance to life in just one day.
To conclude, a public discussion will be held, giving space to reflections on the experience of collaborative theater and its social and cultural significance.
The Autumn Encounters event will thus serve as both a celebration of theater and a concrete demonstration of its collective power. It will allow participants not only to watch but also to experience firsthand the artistic process that LES FILLES DE LA PLUIE values so deeply.
